Film Notes : Chinatown

Like hefty cell phones in early 90s movies, smokey trumpets and lugubrious harps have ruined a lot of films, but Chinatown avoids being taken down by its soundtrack with its smart script and deft acting.

  1. Yeah, overall I like it too. There’s a few spots where it gets a little maudlin, but it’s hard to turn back the clock on something that might have been cool/well done when it came out, but abused/overdone/done poorly there on. Like those 90s big honking cell phones, those were cool back in the day.
