Dear Remy,

I just discovered your review of Discount Fireworks (shamelessly) through a Google update (by way of a British UCCF (Christian) site–go figure) and would like to say how grateful I am for your time and attention.

What I want most in the world is that ‘reader’ who, for better or worse, attends to the poems–reads through them into the ideas that engendered their making or reads from them into new and deeper meanings. Your review gave me both satisfactions.

This deep reading is especially difficult to come by, it seems, if one writes ‘vernacular’ poetry, a simple (though i hope not simplistic) and place-centered poetry that is often and easily dismissed.

Thanks for your kind review but more, for the thoughtful, close reading you gave my work.
