back inthe 90’s we witnessed the overshadowing of Stone Temple Pilots by Pearl Jam because they came out to the populous simultaneoulsy and they had similar sounding vocals. Time has proven who was to remain alhtough STP had their moments.
Band of Horses faces a similar threat in the form of My Morning Jacket…mainly due to a similar taste for the use of reverb in Ghost in My House. Not that MMJ is the only group revisiting echo. This point moves us down your list to a bit of trivia about The New Pornographers (who are anything but). I belive they are a somewhat evolving lineup which gave us Neko Case, who also likes to vocalize up into the ethereal reverb. She also think that it is vital that her breathe sounds are not cut out of her recordings, because the fact that there are humans crerated the music is vital.
The Thirlls, don’t know them other than What Ever Happened to Corey Haim. Well, other than knowing that drugs happened to him. I submit one more point of trivia regarding his better half number one on his speed dial, Corey Feldman. CF came to our very own Monroe a few years back to hack it up at the Blue Monkey…I think they squeezed him in just after “Don’t call me Vanilla” Ice and right before Brett Michaels. The tale goes that he was invited outside at the Pickle Barrelby one of our local valiants because his ego refused to let him watch his mouth in front of the ladies.
All I know about the Submarines is that I appreciate the fact that their music doesn’t autoatically play when you visit their myspace. As if to say,” we don’t assume that you cam here on purpose and care to hear our music, we’ll let you decide.”
Oh, Corey Feldman’s ego also refused to let him accept the invitation to go outside and commence to getting his ass beat. By the by, I bet he makes Michael Jackson sounds whilst being pummelled.
